Produced by Cory Rooney, co-produced with Jackson (see the people directory) — recorded late March–mid-April 1999 at The Hit Factory, NYC, under the working title "She Was Lovin' Me." It never entered the Invincible sequence. The Xscape (2014) release carries a different credit: reworked first by Taryll Jackson, then re-produced by Timbaland and Jerome “J-Roc” Harmon for the album proper — a Phase IV release from the same wave.

The chronology just got firmer — the finer credits, less so. ■

A later pass corroborated this chronology — title, writer, the 1999 Hit Factory session, and the two post-2009 reworks — through period-adjacent press rather than fan-research alone, upgrading its sourcing from fan-site to press tier. Beyond that chronology, granular production narrative stays thin. This is a thin dossier by honest necessity, not by omission — the vault documents that a thing exists, and for "Chicago" the story above is what's solid.
