Resurfaced as a mastering candidate for the 2004 Ultimate Collection box set — a physical studio CD dated March 31, 2014 (the day Xscape was announced) is known to be in the Estate's possession, and an unsold copy was auctioned by Gotta Have Rock & Roll in 2018. Reportedly considered, and again passed over, for Xscape itself. It went on to be the fan community's single "most-wanted" unreleased Jackson track for roughly thirteen years, 2010–2023.

The full, unedited, high-quality version (5:17 runtime) leaked March 30, 2024, following a successful fan crowdfunding campaign, credited to leaker Greg Sandoval. A separate leaker, “Korgnex” — who first shared a snippet back in 2010 — has confirmed the 2000 studio master and the 2004 Ultimate Collection mastering pass are identical recordings. The leaked version confirms the song reached a fully mixed, essentially complete demo state, full verse-and-chorus lyrics included — not just a rough sketch.
