Writer/composer-arranger: Sidney Fine, who conceived the piece and approached Jackson to sing on it — the earlier “Ray Charles, Sidney Fine” writer credit was wrong. The Ray Charles Choir performed backing vocals only; they did not co-write it. A rough string mix is dated Dec 12, 1997. A Phase I seed — part of the earliest post-tour reaching-around, before the record found its shape. No further production narrative is documented.

An account from Sprague “Doogie” Williams, an engineer on ⌜Teddy Riley's team, places Riley's crew already pushing Jackson toward more modern R&B during the Blood on the Dance Floor sessions — possibly predating even this track and "Bio" in spirit, if not in date.
