Day five of the album's life, he's already in the room. ■Roughly five days after the HIStory World Tour ends (Oct 20, 1997), Buxer and engineer Michael Prince are in the studio with Jackson — “ Bio” among the first songs worked, at Buxer's home studio. The origin of these sessions belongs to Phase II's file; his own long history with Jackson is the point here.

The paradox of Invincible: closest personally, most distant musically. ▤Unlike HIStory, where Jackson was present daily, Buxer says on this record Jackson “was not very hands-on… in a really dark space… just wasn't present for the song.” And yet this was the album that made him closest to both Jackson and engineer ⌜Bruce Swedien — “the closest I ever was to Bruce and Michael — so go figure.”

“Speechless,” built entirely over the phone in two hours. ■Jackson wrote “ ♪Speechless” in 45 minutes after a water-balloon fight with children in Germany, then called Buxer at 4:30am — Jackson at Neverland, Buxer at his own house. By 6:30am the song was built, entirely down the line. It's Buxer's own account of his own method; the track's file cross-links here rather than repeating it.

The Neverland setup: a dance studio, a portable rig, a bathroom for vocals. ▤Sessions ran in Jackson's dance studio on a portable “HRS” rig, his vocals cut in a bathroom — Neumann M149 mic, API/Neve E1073 preamp, UREI 1176 compressor — while Buxer worked from the far end of the room to dodge mic leakage. The working relationship continued past Invincible. ■Buxer describes a 2007 late-night call asking him to leave his airline job and work full-time, and unknowingly working on early “This Is It” motifs in 2007–08. This sits after Invincible's scope; kept here only insofar as it's part of the working record between the two of them, not a general account of Jackson's later years — which this site doesn't cover.

Still giving interviews — and a leak that may trace back to him. ▤Buxer gave a March 2025 seminar with engineer Michael Prince in Paris on Jackson's studio methods, and a May 2026 podcast with Brad Sundberg specifically on “Heal the World” — both likely carry new, not-yet-mined Invincible-era detail beyond what's cataloged here. Separately: unreleased Buxer/Jackson material known as “Brad Loop” (created 2002–08) leaked online in January 2026. ⚠︎ It very likely overlaps with the same January 2026 mass-leak event already noted on the Buxer List vault entry, but the two haven't been directly cross-checked title-for-title — presented as a probable, not confirmed, connection.
